Please note, due to large testing volumes, appointment times are approximate and wait times may vary. Appointments are prioritized. We encourage you to book an appointment in advance whenever possible. Wait times for walk-ins at our COVID-19 Assessment Centre may vary depending on volumes.
Cancelling A Testing Appointment
If you need to cancel a booked appointment, you can do so by emailing monthopeharmacy@gmail.com. If you are unable to cancel your appointment over email or online, please call calling the booking line at (289) 759-1100. Phone are answered on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
About The Test
The test is similar to that of other respiratory illnesses and involves taking a sample from the nasal cavity with a swab. This test is not an antibody test.
People who visit COVID-19 Assessment Centre receive the nasopharyngeal (NP) swab that is commonly used for COVID-19 tests. The oral-nasal test is a laboratory-validated polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, not a rapid antigen test.
MGH’s Infection Prevention and Control Team and Toronto Public Health will follow up with those who test positive for COVID-19. Access your COVID-19 test results online. Results should be available within 24 to 72 hours.
It is important to remember that testing represents a snapshot in time. Therefore, it is critical that you continue to follow public health guidelines including: washing your hands, physically distancing by at least six feet from people you do not live with, wearing a mask and avoiding shared surfaces.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you have been exposed to a person with COVID-19, you should get tested between five to eight days after exposure. You must also self-isolate for a total of 10 days after exposure.
We are able to do occupational asymptomatic testing as directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
